Baby Einstein

These DVD's are pretty spectacular.

Who would have known that video taping stuffed animals, glowing lights and colorful toys moving to Beethoven would be such a baby pleaser.  Heck I even watch it.

Boy if I had only thought about that...geez.  But, the baby loves it.  She sits infatuated with the colors and movement.  It's very calming to her.

She's a pretty laid back girl anyway but it's nice to see her so engaged.

One of my cast mates from Tale suggested something that also works wonders.  There is a thing called the visualizer on the Apple in iTunes.  We turn that on to some nice music and the baby is glued to it.  (And that leaves the TV free for football...just kidding).

But seriously, iTunes works pretty well too.

In terms of guests to the concerts...we will know who will be coming to which show in advance. It's a scheduling thing.  We have to see who is available for which night based on their shows or prior commitments.

But it seems everyone wants to come and sing (I'm not going to have enough nights for everyone this year...might just have to make this a regular thing).

I'll announce as each person confirms.  It's going to be fun.

And don't forget...

Sand Oh Holy night tonight at a friends place...I really do love that song.

The visualizer on iTunes is really pretty wild. I remember after I saw Tale I downloaded an amazing audio of the novel and for some reason it turned the visualizer on automatically and I just sat there staring at the thing letting myself get totally lost in this story. I never thought of it for an infant. I'll have to remember that when I'm watching my neighbor's babies.

Bought my tickets yesterday!

Congratulations on your Tony nomination...I found myself being drawn back to comment on this, as it is something you have been wished for since last year, when you initiated your role of Sydney in Tale. God is truly blessing you with answears to many prayers, and hopes. Be thankful and never forget the author of these blessings.

Sorry...it is actually your Tony nomination "eligibility". Either way, it is a great thing.
And if it is not too late..."O Come, All Ye Faithful" and "My Grown Christmas List" (Natalie Cole) would make for great additions to your concert repertoire. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

I always put the visualizer on iTunes on while I'm drifting off to sleep. One of my friends' baby's has such an adoration for Little Einsteins. It's such a fun little thing for babies.

I bought a ticket for the 27th and I'm trying to get my sister to join me for the 30th. I can't wait to hear you sing again and I can't wait to see you. :)

The iTunes Visualizer sounds like a genius invention. I think I'll mention it in my Methods class. It may do some wonders for children who have visual impairments when it comes to learning tracking. Very interesting indeed.

Congratulations on your TONY eligibility. That is wonderful indeed.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy...so glad you are doing this concert...so sad we can't be there...so happy for you and Dana. We know what joy a little girl can bring. After all, we have FOUR granddaughters, but now we are having a BOY in January! Boy, will he be spoiled. Just a thought, musically...we have always loved the speeded-up version of "Jingle Bells" that B. Streisand did. Fun and funny.
Love you guys...talk to us!

Adding your 8/21 concert to holiday events, just makes this time of year so much more special. You will be wonderful. If you choose to add a song from ATOTC to your agenda, please consider Let Her Be A Child. This song's emotional content and your vocal range are a perfect match!
